Does anyone read anything anymore!?? Well, yes, (that’s why blogging continues to be so popular) but a fantastic way to dynamically reach your potential customers, clients and business contacts is through online video.
- Video catches the viewer’s attention
- Video can help you with search engines
- Video can add more of an authoritative feel to your site
Grab Their Attention!
Back to the sentiment of my original statement, although there are still a lot of readers out there, people in general are more drawn to video than static text. Video can quickly get your message across to your website’s visitors and engage them, keeping them on your site long enough to find out how cool you are, rather than not taking time to read your text and move on to the next site.
Video and Google
You’ve probably noticed by now that when you “Google” something you’ll not only see results pages including more than just static links to websites. You’ll also see relevant videos. Most likely not everyone in your field will have videos on their site pertaining to their business. This puts you a step ahead if you can put videos on your site so that they can come up in relevant Google searches, driving traffic to your site.
Video Can Make You Look Good!
As mentioned above, not everyone has gotten on the “Video” band wagon yet. If you have video on your site, this can make you or your business look a little (or a lot) more impressive. More authoritative.
Me? A Movie Star? I Don’t Think So!
So maybe you’re a little reluctant to step in front of the video camera. That’s okay, take a breath, there are other options. I’ll cover this in the next post.
