About four nights a week I take care of a 3.5 year old little boy named, Noah. On nights when he has trouble falling asleep he’ll ask me for a story.
I’ll ask him, “What should the story be about?”
He’ll usually reply with something like, “Giant robots!”
So I’ll begin creating a story that I know he’ll like. The really cool part is, after a couple minutes Noah will jump in and add something to it. At that point we start creating the story together and it’s one of the best parts of my day!
People Like Stories
A story is a fantastic way to reach people. We love stories. It’s been said that a story is one of the best ways we learn about something.
If you’re just reading a tech manual of instructions and information, it’s usually about as dry as toast and you’ll read the very minimum amount of info and move on with life.
If it’s a story, you become engaged.
If you’re telling a story that engages others, and they start contributing, you’ve discovered the model for a successful blog post.
Use Story Telling in your content marketing.
- Think about the subject your readers are interested in.
- Use a story to help educate them.
- Get them engaged.
This is a great way to attract (and keep) more readers on your blog, and more customers on your website.
