Believe it or not, some business owners are still on the fence about whether or not they should have a presence on the various social media networks.

So you put up a page on Facebook; you open a Twitter account; you upload a couple videos to your business’ Youtube channel. Are you going to see an increase in business?

Some businesses try to monetize their social media presences by posting coupons and other marketing devices, and this can be successful. But not by itself.
With all of the social networks, it’s about developing community; developing your voice; building relationships with your audience, followers, customers, clients and prospects.
Over a period of time, your followers can get a chance to understand the kind of business you are and how interested you are in helping them with the problems your business can solve.
One of the best things these networks offer is the ability do develop trust; to let your customers get to know more about you; the value you offer and who you are as a business (and business owner).
Trust has always been one of the biggest issues about having a presence online. Is your presence real? Is it genuine? Are you really looking to help your customer or are you just looking to make a buck?
No judgement here, just trying to point out that having genuine presence on these networks can help your customers (and especially prospective customers) determine whether or not they trust you and want to do business with you.
