I spend a lot of time talking about blogging these days. I also hear a lot of others testifying on the value of blogging. This is simply because blogging is one of the best ways for you to interact with others, developing your own voice and being recognized for it, letting people know why they would be interested in interacting with you and doing business with you. But what about your content?
Does Anyone Want To Read Your Stuff? Would You?
Good questions. Would you want to read your own writing? Would others? What draws people to any kind of presentation? What makes the difference is how passionate someone is about the message they are delivering.
Have you ever listened to someone tell a story that was really about nothing, but you enjoyed listening simply because the person put so much passion into it? This is what I’ve experienced and I believe it’s the same way with business. Only hopefully your message does have some significance.
What Are You Passionate About
Think about this:
- What parts of your business are you most passionate about?
- What do you most believe in about your products or services?
- What are the things about your products or services that you know will really make a difference to someone?
Focus on those things. Work on developing your message around that. Cut away the other stuff and passionately present the information about what you believe in so that you can engage and inspire your readers.
We probably all agree that the value people consistently receive from your blog is what will ultimately make the difference. But passion will always help to make sure people are getting your message.
What other aspects keep bring you back to someone’s blog? I’m very interested in hearing what you think?
