If you love what you do, you know you love talking about it. That’s the first thing that gives you an advantage when it comes to content marketing for your business.
For example, if you’re passionate about photography and that’s your business, approach your blogging and social media efforts with the passion and excitement that you feel about photography. Here’s a platform for you to talk about what you love; to share your passion for what you do.
Funny thing is, you already do it all the time. But when it comes to putting that passion in writing to build your business it becomes “Just another thing you HAVE to do!” Isn’t that funny?
Don’t Over Think; Don’t Over Calculate – Simply Share Your Passion
Don’t over think your blogging. Don’t over think your presence on social networks. Be honest and just use these mediums to share your passion about what you do and how you can help others.
This is Much More Productive!
This approach is a way to produce much more content, more often, and it’s a way to give your readers a real view into who you are and how passionate you are about what you do. That’s REAL stuff and that will always shine through.
Passion Trumps Marketing
You can waste hours and hours trying to think of the most effective marketing message or platform. Instead, just move forward with posting on your blog and your social networks, sharing your passion and what you love about your business.
Case Study: Trey Ratcliff, Professional Photographer
I recently listened to an interview with pro photographer, Trey Ratcliff. The interview was not centered around Trey’s photography. It was focused on Mr. Ratcliff’s approach to social media. Why? Because Trey Ratcliff has built up a social media presence of over 8 million followers.
- He’s not a movie star;
- he’s not a rock star;
- he’s a photographer with over 8 million followers.
The thing that impressed me the most from the interview was Trey’s message regarding his social media efforts. His approach to blogging and these social media platforms is that he loves what he does; he loves sharing what he does and loves following others who loves the same things that he does.
In other words, Trey takes a very real and honest approach to his social media presence. It’s not based on calculated marketing schemes plans, it’s based on having fun, sharing and engaging with others about what he loves. That’s what shines through to Trey’s followers.
The Take Away?
I think it’s pretty obvious, but I really hope this post helps. I know most of my clients love what they do for their customers. They are passionate about their business, but they’re still having a hard time getting started with their social media presence. I hope this kind of clears away all the “I desperately need to figure out this content marketing and social media stuff!!!” and offers an easier and more successful way to approach all of that.
