To repeat: Every business is a media company.
That statement is not necessarily new in terms of web marketing. It’s been around a couple years now. But the reason why I bring it up here is, unless you’ve got your head buried deep in web marketing everyday, you might not be aware of it. Most small business owners, and some larger business owners still aren’t really aware this fact.
Everybody can play
One of the greatest things about the web is that it has leveled the playing field so that every business has a better chance at reaching a larger customer base.
The thing is, now you’re required to use the tools and networks the web has to offer. If you don’t, the playing field is no longer level where you’re concerned. You’re off the map.
This means if you haven’t already got your head around the fact that your business is a media company, do it today.
This is a Good Thing!
Life is Perspective. We’ve all heard that our whole lives. It applies directly to this situation.
Don’t focus on the fact that your not familiar with the best way to use social media to market your business (most people aren’t).
Focus on the opportunity these online tools give you to make your business more successful then it ever would be without them.
Your awesome toolkit:
- Your blog
- YouTube
- Google Plus
- Pinterest (even I’m just getting started with this one!)
They are all free to use. You don’t need a $50,000 marketing campain budget. (That should kind if excite you!)
Producing content that is:
- Valuable
- Engaging
- Consistent
Is what can gain you the popularity and attention that will make a huge difference to the success of your business.
Every business is a media company.
