Summary: I’ll always do my best to fulfill your needs and meet your expectations, but it’s important to have things written down so that we both know what’s what, who should do what and when. In this contract you won’t find any complicated legal terms or long passages of unreadable text. I’ve kept things pretty simple So in short; You CLIENT, are hiring me, Ted Vieira to: Design and develop your website For the estimated total price of total as outlined in our previous correspondence. Of course it’s a little more complicated, but we’ll get to that. What do both parties agree to? You: You have the authority to enter into this contract on behalf of yourself, your company or your organization. You’ll give me the assets and information that’s needed to complete the project. Me: I have the experience and ability to do everything I’ve agreed with you and I’ll do it all in a professional and timely manner. Design I create beautiful, effective design work, and flexible layouts that adapt to the capabilities of many devices and screen sizes. I create designs using the flexible and powerful platform of WordPress. Once I have the site ready for you to preview, I will send you a link to a temporary private online location. You can review the site and we can go from there, making adjustments as required. Text Content You will provide all text needed for each page of the site. I can edit it for you if needed. I can provide professional copywriting and editing services, so if you’d like me to create new content or input content for you, blog posts, etc…, I can provide a separate estimate for that. Media (graphics, photos, video, audio) You should supply graphic files for any specific photos you want on the site. Same with video and audio. Try to provide the highest quality images or graphics you can. That really helps elevate the feel and presentation of the site. I can also use stock images when necessary. Technical support I am not a website hosting company so I don’t offer support for website hosting, email or other services relating to hosting. You may already have professional hosting and you might even manage that hosting in-house; if you do, great. If you don’t, I can recommend a preferred hosting provider. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) I can’t guarantee improvements to your website’s search engine ranking, but the web pages that I develop are accessible to search engines. I will optimize the content during the development process, but if you’d like more done in the area of SEO, that would come in the form of creating posts and other additional content for the site. That would fall under a separate or additional project. Let me know if this is something you’d be interested in. Changes and Revisions I don’t want to limit your ability to change your mind. The price at the beginning of this contract is based on the time that we estimate I’ll need to accomplish everything you’ve told me you want to achieve, but I’m happy to be flexible. If you want to change your mind or add anything new, that won’t be a problem as I’ll provide a separate estimate for the additional time required. Intellectual Property Rights You guarantee that all elements of text, images or other artwork you provide are either owned by you, or that you’ve permission to use them. I guarantee that all elements of the work delivered to you are either owned by me or I’ve obtained permission to provide them to you. Provided you’ve paid for the work and that this contract hasn’t been terminated, I’ll assign all intellectual property rights to you as follows: You’ll own the website I design for you plus the visual elements that I’ve create for it. It’ll be yours. Payment schedule Payment details Project total Price: $2,500.00 Payment schedule First half due: $1,250.00 to begin project. Second half, final payment due: $1,250.00 once the site is launched, or 60 days from when project is started. Whichever comes first. Important: Once we’ve reached 60 days after the signing of this contract, if the project is delayed because of you, the remaining balance is due and there will be a limit of 30 days to complete the project. Once we reach the 30 day limit, any work done beyond that will be considered a new project and will be billed as such. It’s important to complete the project in a timely manner, and this schedule just helps keep everybody focused and on track.
