A while back I did a post called, The Power 10 List – Home Run Blog Topics. Then a little later I followed up with a video version of that post, Successful Blog Topics Your Readers Want – The Movie!
Basically, the premise was for you to think of the top 10 questions customers always ask you about your business. Those could be 10 top areas from which you could draw inspiration for your blog posts. I go on further to describe how you could break those 10 topics down to subtopics, and so on, and so on…

I was listening to an interview with Chris Brogan a while back and he suggests something similar but with a different twist.
Chris suggests googling FAQ pages for your industry, then using those questions as topics for your posts.
Googling FAQ Results For Your Industry
As an example, I would google something like, “web design FAQ.” Then I could go through the results and probably would find great topics to write about. That will most likely be very helpful for my readers.
- So maybe you’re a plumber. Maybe you could try googling, “Plumbing FAQ.”
- Maybe you’re a dry cleaner. You could try googling, “Dry Cleaning FAQ.”
- Maybe you’re in health care. You could google FAQ for the field you specialize in.
This could give you an endless supply of the perfect blog topics to get traction with your customers/readers/followers.
